Avril joined Mediacorp in 2012 as part of radio station 938LIVE (re-branded CNA938). She was part of the team producing special coverage of key Singapore news events including the passing of founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, the 2015 General Election, and the country’s golden jubilee celebrations.
Avril transitioned to CNA in 2017 as a presenter. She was part of the channel’s round-the-clock coverage of the historic meeting of the leaders of the United States and North Korea. In particular, she worked on analysis of North Korea relating to its revenue streams and food security, and Live coverage of the financial and economic implications of the 2018 summit. She considers it a rare privilege to have witnessed an event that brought together audiences from around the world, one that showcased the dynamism of a newsroom.
