Emma Stone has a big, errr, stone to show off now that she’s engaged to longtime boyfriend, Dave McCary.
They shared the happy news on McCary’s Instagram page on Wednesday (Dec 4), via a photo of himself and the 31-year-old actress showing off her new ring with a simple caption of a double heart emoji.
The couple started dating in 2017 after meeting on Saturday Night Live in late 2016, the sketch comedy show where McCary works as a writer and segment director. The Oscar-winning actress had hosted an episode and starred in Wells For Boys, which McCary directed.
Stone won a Best Actress Oscar for La La Land, while the 34-year-old McCary is a three-time Emmy nominee for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series for his work on SNL.
The couple have kept their relationship relatively low-key. Â
According to a source who spoke to People magazine, they “got a home together in Malibu over the summer.”
The source added: “Dave is a super down-to-earth guy. Most of his best friends are people he’s known since he was a kid, and he’s not affected by Hollywood. He’s very creative and funny, and he and Emma share the same sense of adventure.”
Stone was in a previous relationship with actor Andrew Garfield, with whom she starred in The Amazing Spider-Man. They split up in 2015 after almost four years together.
