Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth split after just seven months of marriage
The celebrity couple confirmed split rumours after weeks of speculation, saying "this is what's best" for both of them while they "focus on themselves".

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have called it quits after seven months of marriage. The pair married in December 2018 in a private ceremony attended by their closest friends and family.
The news broke hours after intimate pictures of Cyrus and The Hills star Kaitlynn Carter vacationing in Italy were released. The swimsuit-clad singer and Carter were photographed packing on the PDA.
"Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time," Cyrus’ rep told People magazine. "Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers."
Cyrus' trip with Carter comes a month after the Wrecking Ball singer opened up to ELLE about her “modern” marriage to Hemsworth.
“I think it’s very confusing to people that I’m married,” said Cyrus. “But my relationship is unique. And I don’t know that I would ever publicly allow people in there because it’s so complex, and modern, and new that I don’t think we’re in a place where people would get it.”
She also told the magazine, "People become vegetarian for health reasons, but bacon is still f***ing good, and I know that. I made a partner decision. This is the person I feel has my back the most. I definitely don't fit into a stereotypical wife role. I don't even like that word."
In an earlier interview with Vanity Fair, Cyrus said that being married hasn’t changed her identifying as bisexual. "I'm in a hetero relationship, but I still am very sexually attracted to women."
Cyrus and Hemsworth married in December 2018 in a private ceremony attended by their closest friends and family. Their on-again, off-again relationship started in 2009 when they met on the set of The Last Song.
