Stars Park Min Young, Andy Serkis, Diego Luna, Robin Wright in Singapore for Netflix showcase
17 new Asian original productions from Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, India and South Korea were also announced.

A bevy of international stars have descended upon Singapore's shores to help Netflix unveil a collection of 17 original series and films from Asia; as well as to celebrate its stalwart shows.
The streaming giant presented their future projects at See What’s Next: Asia – their first-ever content showcase in the region – held at Marina Bay Sands on Nov 8. In attendance were Hollywood stars like House of Cards’ Robin Wright; Narcos: Mexico’s Diego Luna and Michael Pena; and Andy Serkis, who is helming Netflix’s upcoming big-budget fantasy film Mowgli: Legend Of The Jungle.
Also lending their star power were Korean stars Park Min-Young (Busted); Jisoo, Jung Chaeyeon and Jinyoung (My First First Love); and Kim Sohyun (Love Alarm), who were all on hand to introduce the upcoming original K-drama and K-variety show slate.
Notable Asian titles in the works include a Pacific Rim anime series and an Altered Carbon anime feature from Japan; and Trese, the anime series based on the Philippine graphic novel by the same name.
“Asia is home to the world's great creative centres producing some of the most compelling films and series of today,” said Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, at the event.
At the closing of the first day of the two-day event, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings announced the renewal of Korean zombie series Kingdom for a second series – a surprise given how its first season is only set to debut next year.
