Yes, we know that staycations are the closest thing we can get to a holiday right now, and to their credit, hotels in Singapore have gotten creative with crafting packages that promise unique experiences. But if you’re looking for a stay at somewhere newish, you'll be pleased to know that Duxton Reserve Singapore has officially opened its doors.

The property itself isn’t brand new. Located in the Tanjong Pagar district, the hotel was formerly the Six Senses Duxton, before shuttering during the circuit breaker period.

The hotel’s owner, The Garcha Group, has since reopened the property under Marriott’s Autograph Collection. The hotel now begins a new chapter as the Duxton Reserve Singapore.

So, what can one expect during a stay at the Duxton Reserve?

Fans of Six Senses Duxton will be glad to know that the hotel retains its Anouska Hempel-designed interiors. Still in place are the large theatrical golden fans at the entrance and strong hues of black, gold and yellow, layered with oriental screens and calligraphy wallpaper from Hempel’s personal collection.

The hotel boasts a total of 49 guest rooms and suites, each with a unique design. Thoughtful in-room amenities include Naturalmat organic mattresses, organic cotton bedlinen by Beaumont & Brown, and bathroom amenities by Etro.

Gourmands will be glad to know that well-loved modern Chinese restaurant Yellow Pot has also reopened on the property. Helmed by Chef Sebastian Goh, the restaurant follows a clean eating philosophy, with no MSG, additives or artificial flavourings added to the dishes.

For tipples, there’s Anouska’s, an ode to the hotel’s designer. Before becoming an interior designer, Anouska Hempel was a former Bond girl. The glamorous bar serves up the actress’ favourite drinks from around the world spanning the disco era of the 70s and 80s.

During a stay at Duxton Reserve, guests can also take part in a perfume-making workshop held by Maison 21G, a local bespoke perfumery located next to the property. There, guests can recreate the hotel's customised signature scent, Garcha, an enchanting potpourri of amber, oud, patchouli and a dash of ginger.

Autograph Collection Hotels also participates in the Marriott Bonvoy rewards programme, so members staying at the Duxton Reserve Singapore will have the opportunity to enjoy all the benefits.
